Winter Fancy Food Show Las Vegas

I had a great time going to the Winter Fancy Food Show in Las Vegas this year. I go to see clients, meet new clients, network with the Specialty Food Association people, eat and look at packaging!

The Winter Fancy Food Show 2025 was packed with energy—new products, bold flavors, and brands figuring out how to meet changing consumer expectations. Value and premium are no longer opposites—shoppers want both. Private-label brands are getting a gourmet upgrade, warehouse clubs are expanding premium selections, and meal kits and bulk buying are growing as people look for smart ways to shop without sacrificing quality.

Sustainability is still a big focus, especially in packaging. Brands are cutting down on waste, using compostable materials, and making designs simpler and more functional.

I’ve put together all the big takeaways in my 2025 Specialty Food Show Insights Report. Want to see where the flavors and packaging are heading? Download the report here!

The Summer show is in New York and in 2026, the Specialty Food Association is moving their winter show to San Diego! It will be called the Winter Fancy Faire.

Luxe Pack LA & Makeup in LA

Full transparency here: I ended up not going up to LA for the show. It was pouring rain and, well, I didn’t want to deal with all that! This year's Luxe Pack Los Angeles showcased the latest in beauty packaging, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and new materials. The event featured over 80 packaging specialists, introducing fresh ideas in eco-friendly design, refillable packaging, and smart materials. With MakeUp in Los Angeles happening simultaneously, attendees got a comprehensive view of emerging trends in beauty packaging, including the latest advances in sustainable luxury. Highlights:

Cal Poly GrC Advisory Board Winter Meeting

Did you know I am on the Cal Poly Graphic Communication Department’s Advisory Board? It’s true - been on there for 30 years. Yikes! During this time I’ve met so many students and faculty. We support the students and faculty by helping shape the curriculum, the future of the department, and assist with financing for events and machinery.

We also have the option of being a mentor. I’ve had several over the years and we’re all still in touch after they’ve graduated. It’s wonderful to watch their growth. If you have young students who are creative and interested in technology, thinking about college, then the GrC Department might be a perfect place for them!
