Famous subscription boxes we've worked on

What better customer could a boxmaker ask for than a customer who has the word box in their company name?! I was introduced to the lovely women of Birchbox in 2010 when they were first taking their Harvard Business School project live.

They had connections, they had backers and most of all, they had a fantastic idea. In the cosmetics industry, there are samples everywhere. But as a brand, how do you know if the money you spend on samples leads to sales?

Birchbox answered that by sending samples and driving sales back to their retail site. It's more than a retail site though - it's conversations and demos too. And now it’s a huge company!

Their success, like many good ideas, set off a chain reaction of similar companies in many industries such as pet food, hosiery and fashion. Stitch Fix and Hoseanna are two that I've worked with. When your business gets big enough to move from generic, unbranded shippers and packaging to branded packaging, that's where I've come in to be a valued partner.

More recently, I’ve produced many ecommerce shippers that are not that different than subscription boxes. Birchbox and Stitch Fix had their box styles and now the most common style is the rollover front tuck style shipper. It allows for impact when the client opens the box with graphics inside as well as outside. And with the revolutionizing of digital print on corrugated, we have a lot of fun with graphics!

If you're considering this type of business, there are consultants out there to help you develop your own business. Meanwhile, I can help you with the graphics and production of your boxes.
